Claudia Christiane Endler Mutinelli was born on 23 July 1991 in Santiago, Chile, and began her career with Unión La Calera before attending the University of South Florida, where she played college soccer in the United States from 2012 to 2014. She returned to Chile with Everton and Colo-Colo before moving to Europe, developing into one of the finest goalkeepers in the history of the women's game. Endler spent time at Chelsea, Valencia, and Paris Saint-Germain before joining Lyon in 2021, where her shot-stopping ability, command of her area, and consistency established her as arguably the best goalkeeper in world football throughout the 2020s. She has won multiple French league titles and Champions League honours with Lyon. Endler was named the Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper in both 2021 and 2022, becoming the first South American to win the award, and has been instrumental in raising the profile of Chilean women's football on the international stage.
