Born in Castle Rock, Colorado in 1996, Christian Jackson McCaffrey emerged from exceptional athletic lineage. His father Ed McCaffrey played 13 NFL seasons as a wide receiver, winning three Super Bowl titles, while his grandfather Max Anderson competed in the AFL. McCaffrey starred at Stanford University, where he finished second in Heisman Trophy voting in 2015 and set multiple NCAA records, including most all-purpose yards in a season. The Carolina Panthers selected McCaffrey eighth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, immediately establishing him as a dual-threat weapon. He quickly became the centerpiece of Carolina's offense, earning Pro Bowl selections in 2018 and 2019. He immediately revitalized San Francisco's rushing attack and capped his resurgence by winning the 2023 NFL rushing title with 1,459 yards while scoring 21 total touchdowns. His dominant performance earned him the Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year award and helped propel the 49ers to Super Bowl LVIII, where they fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime.
