Caroline Ouellette was born on 25 May 1979 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and joined the Canadian national team in 1999, developing into one of the most decorated forwards in the history of women's hockey. Ouellette won four Olympic gold medals, in 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014, along with six gold and six silver medals across 12 IIHF Women's World Championships, ranking among the top ten all-time scorers in NCAA history from her collegiate career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Ouellette played for Les Canadiennes de Montreal in the Canadian Women's Hockey League, winning four Clarkson Cup championships, and became one of only three women recognised as members of hockey's unofficial Triple Gold Club for winning the Clarkson Cup, an Olympic gold medal, and a World Championship gold medal. Ouellette retired in 2018 after nearly two decades with the national team, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2023. She has since become an assistant coach with the Montreal Victoire of the Professional Women's Hockey League, continuing to shape the sport she helped define at its highest levels.
