Bryce Andrew Mitchell was born on 4 October 1994 in Texarkana, Arkansas, and was raised in Cabot, Arkansas, attending Cabot High School before studying at Harding University, developing his grappling skills through wrestling before turning professional in mixed martial arts in 2015. Mitchell, nicknamed "Thug Nasty," appeared on The Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated reality show, reaching the semi-finals before earning a spot on the UFC roster, and became just the second fighter in UFC history to win a fight by twister submission, a rare and technically demanding finish that earned Submission of the Year recognition from multiple outlets. Mitchell has continued to compete at the top of the UFC featherweight and later bantamweight divisions, renowned for his elite grappling and an unconventional training regimen based on his family farm in Searcy, Arkansas, rather than at a traditional major MMA gym.
