The Golden Brett — 741 career goals and the Stanley Cup winner on the most controversial goal in Finals history.

Brett Andrew Hull was born in Belleville, Ontario in 1964, the son of Hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Hull. His NHL career produced 741 goals — the third-highest total in NHL history. He won two Stanley Cup championships (1999 Dallas, 2002 Detroit). He won the Hart Trophy as MVP in 1991 after scoring 86 goals — the third-highest total in NHL history and the highest since Gretzky. He won the Lady Byng Trophy for sportsmanship in 1990. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009 and named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in 2017. He holds dual American-Canadian citizenship and represented the USA in international competition. His 1999 Stanley Cup-winning goal against Buffalo — scored with his skate in the crease, technically a violation of the rule that was in effect at the time — remains the most controversial goal in Stanley Cup Finals history; the NHL eventually acknowledged the crease violation but allowed the goal to stand. His wrist shot was described by goaltenders as the hardest and most accurate of his era.
