Brandon Moreno is a two-time former UFC Flyweight Champion known for his historic four-fight rivalry with Deiveson Figueiredo.

Brandon Moreno Carrillo was born on 7 December 1993 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, to a middle-class family that ran a piñata business, and began training in mixed martial arts at 12 after his mother enrolled him at the local Entram Gym to help him lose weight, despite her hopes he would pursue a law degree instead. Moreno endured significant financial hardship early in his career, balancing four hours of daily training with five to six hours of work at his family's business to support himself, before being released by the UFC following back-to-back losses in 2017 and 2018. Moreno rebuilt his career and, on 12 June 2021, defeated Deiveson Figueiredo by submission to win the UFC Flyweight Championship, becoming the first Mexican-born fighter ever to win a UFC title, and received an emotional homecoming celebration in Tijuana complete with a mariachi band. Moreno, nicknamed "The Assassin Baby," went on to become a two-time UFC flyweight champion across a storied rivalry with Figueiredo, and continues to compete at the top of the division, walking out for every fight carrying the Mexican flag in tribute to the country and city where his unlikely rise began.
