Joey — the greatest halfback in rugby league history and the sport's finest technical player.
Andrew Paul Johns was born in Cessnock, New South Wales in 1974. He is universally acknowledged as the greatest halfback in rugby league history and by many as the finest player the sport has produced. He won two NRL premierships with Newcastle and three Dally M Medals — the NRL's most valuable player award. He led NSW in 10 State of Origin series. He revealed his epilepsy publicly in 2007. He was found with ecstasy by police in London in 2007 — the revelation generating enormous media coverage in Australia. He is the benchmark against which all halfbacks in rugby league are measured.
