White Lightning — one of the fastest bowlers in cricket history and South Africa's most feared paceman.
Allan Donald was born on 20 October 1966 in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Nicknamed 'White Lightning' for his extreme pace, he was one of the fastest bowlers in cricket history. He took 330 Test wickets in 72 Tests at an average of 22.25 and was a constant menace for batsmen throughout the 1990s. He is best remembered for the heart-breaking 1999 Cricket World Cup semi-final run-out with Lance Klusener that eliminated South Africa. Donald was a key member of Warwickshire's county team in England and was genuinely feared by batsmen worldwide.
