Aiden Markram was born on 4 October 1994 in Centurion, South Africa. He made his Test debut in 2017 and immediately impressed with back-to-back centuries on debut. A technically correct top-order batsman, Markram has become one of South Africa's most consistent performers in Tests, ODIs and T20s. He led the Sunrisers Hyderabad to the 2024 IPL title and captained the South Africa T20 team. He scored 3,000+ Test runs and averages over 35. In 2023-24, Markram led South Africa to the T20 World Cup final.

He scored centuries in both innings of his Test debut in 2017 — only the second South African to achieve that feat.
