Pogi — three Tour de France titles and the most exciting cyclist since Merckx.
Tadej Pogačar was born in Komenda, Slovenia in 1998. He won the Tour de France in 2020 — defeating Jonas Vingegaard on the penultimate time trial stage — having been behind until the final 55 kilometres of the race. He won again in 2021. He lost in 2022 and 2023 to Vingegaard. He won the Grand Tour double — Tour de France and Giro d'Italia — in 2024 and the World Championship. His attacking style — accelerating on climbs at seemingly impossible moments — has been compared to Bernard Hinault by cycling historians. He is the most dominant active Grand Tour cyclist.
