The Menace — two-time World Champion and the first-ever PDC World Champion, whose place in darts history is secured by winning the inaugural PDC World Championship in 1994 as well as the BDO title three years earlier.
Dennis Priestley was born in Mexborough, South Yorkshire on 16 July 1950. He won the BDO World Championship in 1991 before joining the breakaway PDC, where he won the inaugural PDC World Championship in 1994 — making him the holder of both major world titles in the sport's history. His clean, precise throwing action and methodical approach produced consistently excellent doubles finishing. He is a significant figure in the sport's history not only for his titles but for his place at the founding of the PDC.
BDO World Champion 1991
Priestley is the only player in history to have won both the BDO World Championship and the PDC World Championship — the two major darts titles that existed simultaneously for many years.
