The Iron Man of quarterbacking — Brett Favre's 297 consecutive starts from 1992 to 2010 is the most remarkable consecutive games streak at the position in NFL history. Three consecutive MVP awards (1995-97) and a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 1996. His gunslinger mentality, enthusiasm for the game and ability to improvise under pressure made him one of the most entertaining players of his era, though his interception total also reflected his willingness to force throws. Retired as the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards, touchdowns and interceptions.
Brett Lorenzo Favre was born in Gulfport, Mississippi in 1969. Green Bay Packers acquired him in 1992 and he became his franchise quarterback for 16 seasons. He won Super Bowl XXXI after the 1996 season. He won three consecutive NFL MVP awards (1995, 1996, 1997) — the only player to achieve this. He set the NFL record for consecutive starts by a quarterback at 297. He retired with 71,838 passing yards and 508 touchdowns. His aggressive, improvisational gunslinger style produced spectacular touchdowns alongside costly interceptions. He retired and unretired multiple times, including a stint with the Minnesota Vikings where he led them to the NFC Championship in 2009. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.
