The Limestone Cowboy — 1988 BDO World Champion and three-time consecutive World Masters champion, whose country-and-western persona and powerful, consistent throwing style made him one of the most distinctive personalities of the late 1980s darts scene.

Bob Anderson was born in Ayrshire, Scotland on 27 September 1947. He won the BDO World Championship in 1988, defeating John Lowe in the final. In the same period he won the World Masters in three consecutive years — 1985, 1986 and 1987 — the only player to achieve a hat-trick of consecutive World Masters titles. His country-and-western stage persona, including cowboy hat and boots, made him immediately recognisable and was an early example of the distinctive presentation styles that would later become universal in the sport.
