The most decorated American Winter Olympian — eight medals across three Games.
Apolo Anton Ohno was born in Seattle, Washington in 1982 to a Japanese-American father. He became the most decorated American Winter Olympian with eight medals across three Games (2002, 2006, 2010). His 2002 Salt Lake City short track event — when he crossed the finish line sitting up after other skaters fell, to win gold in the 1500m — generated one of the most dramatic individual Olympic moments in American broadcast history. He won Dancing with the Stars in 2007 with the highest score in the show's history at that time. He later became a motivational speaker and entrepreneur.
